Smart Solutions for Challenging Environments

Ice Experience: Projects & Programs

Founded to address the challenges of Canada's offshore and Arctic frontiers, C-CORE's chief research interest has been and remains, ice: we work to understand the behavior and prevalence of sea ice and icebergs in regions of potential development, and develop techniques to mitigate risk through protective design and physical management. From time to time, C-CORE will feature projects that may be of interest to our clients, partners and associates, particularly those that highlight the benefit of our closely integrated technical and engineering teams.

The Iceberg Profiling Project demonstrates the close collaboration of C-CORE's Ice Engineering and Remote Sensing teams, as well as our collaboration with private sector partners.

Several projects illustrate collaboration between our Ice and Geotechnical  Engineering Teams: Caspian Sea ScourLabrador Iceberg Scour Risk, and the Joint Industry Projects, PIRAM and SIRAM.

The Integrated Ice Management Research Program involves all three C-CORE areas of technical expertise.
