Since the 1975, C-CORE has provided research-based advisory services to help clients mitigate operational risk in harsh environments. We conduct applied engineering research and development focusing on ice loads and risk evaluation, finite element and numerical analyses, as well as field studies in support of client research and development activities. We house the largest concentration of ice expertise (both in personnel and in data) in the world.

With special focus on understanding and managing ice risk, protecting infrastructure and advancing design for frontier regions, C‐CORE leads the world in ice engineering for Arctic design. We are home to the Centre for Arctic Resource Development (CARD), which pursues medium to long term R&D dedicated to responsible, cost-effective development of hydrocarbons in high latitudes. C-CORE adds value for Arctic design and operations by combining our ice expertise with our sea ice and iceberg remote sensing services.
