Dr. Rodney McAffee, Ph.D, P.Eng., Director, Geotechnical Engineering
Dr. Rodney McAffee joined C-CORE in 2012 as Director, Geotechnical Engineering. He brings to the role more than 20 years of experience in geotechnical engineering. He obtained a Masters degree from the University of Alberta with a focus in rock slope stability and a Doctorate from the University of New Brunswick specializing in soil-structure interaction problems utilizing field instrumentation, numerical modeling, and geotechnical centrifuge testing. Dr. McAffee has been involved in a wide range of consulting projects in the areas of: induced trench installation design; ground stabilization to prevent liquefaction during seismic loading; geotechnical instrumentation and data collection systems; slope stability analysis; design of tailings dams; and thermal soil mechanics.
