Remote Sensing - Earth Observation
Remote Sensing technologies enable the monitoring of environments, infrastructure and activities, to gather information of interest to industry, researchers and/or governments.
C-CORE's team of 35 remote sensing engineers and scientists represents the largest concentration of diverse remote sensing expertise in Canada, dedicated to advancing application of space technologies in terrestrial industries and operations.
C-CORE remote sensing Earth observation projects span a wide variety of applications that help ensure the safety and security of people and infrastructure: monitoring ice build-up in rivers; tracking icebergs upstream of offshore installations; monitoring millimetre-level ground shifts near dam, mine or pipeline operations; tracking the movement of equipment and assets, such as the tow-out of the Hibernia offshore platform; and supporting search and rescue operations. Earth observation technology provides information that helps improve operational and regulatory performance and mitigate risks.
