Applying Radar and Vision Systems
Radar and vision systems enables organizations to monitor activities that have a real or potential impact on industrial operations - whether it's surface or subsurface environments. This may involve monitoring the movement of equipment and assets, such as the tow-out of the Hibernia offshore installation, or minute ground shifts that may have an effect on pipeline operations. Radar and vision systems help industrial organizations maximize performance of their operations and mitigate risks.
Depth of Expertise
For more than 30 years, C-CORE's applied research team has been dedicated to the advancement of Radar and vision systems - with considerable expertise in the oil and gas, pipeline and space sectors. Our core expertise includes signal and image processing, hardware design, data analysis, satellite applications development, radar research and development, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and programming. We have the benefit of highly qualified staff, top-flight facilities and collaborative partnerships with industry, government, institutes and universities. As well, our activities are supported by high-speed computing capabilities, superior commercial and custom software packages and other specialized technologies.
Applied Technologies
C-CORE's work in geospatial systems focuses on the advancement of industrial applications for a wide range of technologies including: Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)/optical satellite image processing and applications for earth observation; radar research, design and implementation for target detection and classification; ocean environmental monitoring; and data processing and analysis.
The Polar View
An important component of C-CORE's work in geospatial
systems includes its part in the Polar View Team. This team is a
dynamic group of companies and research organizations from Europe
and Canada. Each organization brings diverse, complementary skills
and experience to the Polar View program and is committed to
establishing a dedicated service center for addressing northern
issues using earth observation (EO) technologies.
An initiative of the European Space Agency and the European Commission, with participation by the Canadian Space Agency, the Polar View makes EO services more accessible and affordable to anyone interested in northern regions. The Polar View provides users with a 'one-stop-shop' for northern information, incorporating EO and other information as needed.
