David J. Oake, B.Comm (Hons.)

From 2000 to 2008, Mr. Oake was Executive Vice-President (Corporate
Development) of Stratos Global Corporation, the world’s
largest provider of remote satellite communications services. In
this capacity Mr. Oake was responsible for development of corporate
strategy, mergers and acquisitions and development of international
partnerships and ventures and served as a director of nearly all of
Stratos’ domestic and international subsidiaries and investee
companies. Prior to that, Mr. Oake was Vice-President (Corporate
Development) of Aliant Inc. and Executive Vice-President of NewTel
Enterprises Ltd.
Before moving to the private sector, Mr. Oake held a number of
senior executive positions with the Government of Newfoundland and
Labrador including Deputy Minister of the Treasury Board and Deputy
Minister of Industry, Trade and Technology. During his tenure Mr.
Oake was heavily involved in negotiations with the project
proponents pertaining to royalty, project finance, taxation and
industrial benefits issues leading to the development of the
Hibernia and White Rose offshore oil projects.
Mr. Oake currently serves on the board of a number of private
companies and not-for-profit organizations and in the past has
served as a director of Stratos Global Corporation, Moscow Teleport
Ltd., Navarino Telecom, xwave and as Chairman and director of
Marystown Shipyard Ltd., Bull Arm Site Corporation and C-CORE (1995
-2001. Mr. Oake is also proud to be associated with the sport of
rugby in Newfoundland and is President of the Dogs Rugby Football
Club.
Mr. Oake is a graduate (1978) of Memorial University of
Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree majoring
in Finance and Accounting and a graduate (1979) of Queen’s
University with a Master of Business Administration degree
specializing in Finance and International Business.
Mr. Oake resides in St. John’s with his wife and two
children.
Jim Keating,

Nalcor Energy - Oil and
Gas
Jim Keating, was appointed Vice President of Nalcor Energy - Oil
and Gas, in January 2009. Jim joined Newfoundland and Labrador
Hydro, a subsidiary of Nalcor Energy, in December 2005 as Vice
President, Business Development.
Jim is a graduate and Dean's Award recipient of Memorial University
and attained a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) in 1993 and a Master
of Business Administration in 2002. Upon graduation from Memorial
University in 1993, he began working in the area of project
management and planning for global engineering, procurement and
construction firms working in the offshore. In 1998 he joined Norsk
Hydro ASA as a Project Engineer with Hydro's Technology and
Projects division evaluating concepts for new offshore developments
in the North Sea and elsewhere. In 2001, Jim became an Area Asset
Manager with the International Oil and Gas Division of Norsk Hydro
with the responsibility for the technical and commercial areas of
some of the company's international assets outside the Norwegian
Continental Shelf. In 2004, Jim became Norsk Hydro Canada Oil &
Gas's Vice-President of Field Development and Operations and was
responsible for all aspects of that company's Canadian development
and operations portfolio including representation on the executive
management committees of the Hibernia , Terra Nova and Hebron
Projects.
Jim holds several board memberships including the Board of Regents
of Memorial University, the Energy Council of Canada and the Bull
Arm Site Corporation. He currently resides in St. Philips with his
wife Kimberly and their three daughters Karoline, Ava and
Madeline.
Stephanie Hayes-Wilson
Director, Project and Risk Management Systems
Trans Canada Pipelines Limited
Ms. Wilson is
currently the director of TransCanada’s Project and Risk
Management Systems team that supports TransCanada’s growing
pipeline and power project portfolio. Prior to this role, she was a
manager in TransCanada Power Projects Implementation team
responsible for the construction and operation of 749 MW of wind
power projects in Quebec’s Gaspe Peninsula . Before joining
TransCanada in 2001 as a project manager, responsible for small to
medium size projects in TransCanada’s pipeline integrity
group, Ms Wilson was a mechanical engineer with Gazoduc TransQuebec
and Maritimes (TQM) responsible for various engineering and
operational duties. She began her career with NB Power as a
Mechanical Engineer based out of Saint John, New Brunswick , in its
thermal generation group.
Ms. Wilson was a member of the Board for the Foundation of nature
museums of Montreal (Planetarium, Biodome, Botanical gardens, and
Insectarium) She was born and raised in Montreal and moved to New
Brunswick to study at the University of New Brunswick where she
received her B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
Mr.
Tom Craig

Mr. Craig has over twenty eight years professional experience in the oil and gas industry developing expertise in Engineering, Planning, Economics, Geology, Negotiations and Communications.
Mr. Craig started his career in 1978 with the Imperial Oil Company in Calgary. His work with Imperial took him from the deepwater of the Flemish Pass and the Baffin Basin on the East Coast to the ice of the Beaufort sea and in Norway. In 1985, as a Development Engineer, he worked several successful delineation and development programs in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Having worked in the geology, engineering and field operations aspects of the business he next moved on to the business aspects of the industry in 1988, working first as a business analyst, then senior negotiator with Imperial oil.
In 1993, he accepted a position with PanCanadian to work Development Engineering with their wildcat Exploration Ventures teams. Mr. Craig helped build PanCanadian's frontier and international exploration divisions until the merger of the Company with AEC in 2002 when EnCana was formed. Mr. Craig was appointed Vice President, Planning and Evaluations for EnCana's Offshore and International Operations Division at the formation of the company and has also served as the Vice President, Development Engineering for EnCana's International New Ventures Exploration division, North America Frontiers and Europe. Mr. Craig is currently on an executive exchange with the Federal Government, working in Ottawa with Northern Affairs assisting and advising the Department on a variety of files including International Polar Year and Regulatory Improvement.
Dr.
Christopher Loomis
Vice President (Academic)
Memorial University
Dr. Loomis is Memorial University of Newfoundland's Vice-President of Research. He joined Memorial's School of Pharmacy as an associate professor in 1988 and ten years later,was named the school's director. His research specialty is the spinal pharmacology of pain with emphasis on central mechanisms of neuropathic pain.
Dr. Loomis was the first representative from Memorial to serve as regional director of the Medical Research Council. He was also a member of the College of Reviewers for the Canada Research Chairs Program and president of the Association of Deans of Pharmacy of Canada. He is currently a member of the Rx&D Health Research Foundation Advisory Council.
Dr. Loomis twice received the Bristol Myers Squibb Award for Excellence in Pharmaceutical Teaching, and the Dr. Albert R. Cox Research Award from Memorial University. Dr. Loomis received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Queen's University in 1983.
Dr. Ray Gosine

Dr. Ray Gosine, P.Eng. was appointed the Dean of Memorial's Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science in July 2003 after serving as interim Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research in the faculty since August 2002.
Dr. Gosine is a professor in electrical and computer engineering at Memorial and he carries out research in the field of intelligent systems in collaboration with C-CORE. A Memorial alumnus (B.Eng., 1986), Dr. Gosine holds a Ph.D. from Cambridge University (1989). He held academic positions at Cambridge University and the University of British Columbia before returning to Memorial in 1994.
In 2000, Dr. Gosine was named to the J.I. Clark Chair of Intelligent Systems for Operations in Harsh Environments. His work in telerobotics, machine vision and pattern recognition has led to an extensive range of collaborative projects with industry, where intelligent systems support industrial development in harsh environments and in applications where production or processing is not feasible for humans.
Dr. Gosine's work has also been recognized by a President's Award for Outstanding Research, a Petro-Canada Young Innovator Award, and an Early Achievement Award from APEGN.
Dr. Gosine also serves on a number of Board of Directors and University and Faculty Committees.
Anne W. Downey, P. Eng.

Anne Downey was appointed to the C-CORE Board in June 2008. Ms
Downey has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Memorial
University and has more than 30 years experience with two major
corporations in various aspects of the oil and gas industry. Ms
Downey is a member of AGEGGA, Petroleum Society, Canadian Institute
of Mining, Metallurgy & Society of Petroleum Engineers. Ms
Downey is also an active volunteer lending her time to various
programs and church activities in Calgary.

Jan-Kristian Haukeland Msc

Mr. Haukeland is currently assigned to the Stanze corporate project
as a work stream leader based in Acergy's head office in London
Mr. Haukeland was graduated from the technical university in
Trondheim, Norway in 1990 and he holds a master degree in
mechanical design and technical management.
Mr. Haukeland has worked for more than 18 years in the offshore
construction industry. He started his professional career joining
Stolt Nielsen Seaway early 1991. He has worked on several projects
for this company world wide as a Project Engineer, Project
Technical Manager and Assistant Project Manager. In 1997 Mr.
Haukeland joined Statoil's Shipping and Maritime division where he
was responsible for offshore crude loading and FPSO design (this
division is today known as Teekay). From 2002 to 2003 Mr. Haukeland
worked as the Engineering Manager of Stolt Offshore AS in Norway.
From 2003 to end of 2008 Mr. Haukeland was the Technical Director
of Acergy Group's Northern Europe and Canada Operations.
Mr. Haukeland serves at the Board of Director's of Marintek AS,
with main office in Norway and branch offices in Rio and
Houston.
Mr. Haukeland has recently been appointed to the program board for
Arctic OTC in 2010
Mark MacLeod
Atlantic Canada Manager, Chevron.
Mark’s career with Chevron began in 1980 when he worked as a
geophysicist in San Francisco working in exploration. Subsequently,
he worked in Houston, Concord, and La Habra, California on
exploration, development and geophysical research.
Mark was active in
the development of new reservoir characterization techniques while
in La Habra and then worked in Aberdeen, Scotland, where he applied
these techniques to Chevron's UK assets. While in the UK, Mark was
appointed Exploration Manager.
In 2000, Mark transferred to Calgary to work on the Hebron project
and in 2002 he became the Hebron Project Manager. In 2004, Mark
took on the role of Manager, External Stakeholders, for the Hebron
Project, based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.
In 2007, Mark moved to Oslo where he was Country Manager for
Chevron's Norway operations. In 2009, Mark transferred back to St.
John's to take on the new role of Atlantic Canada Manager for
Chevron.
Mark obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from La Salle College in
1979 and a Masters of Science degree in Geophysics from Stanford
University in 1980.
PAULA M. McDONALD, B. Comm (Hons.), FCA,
CMA

Paula McDonald was appointed Executive Vice-President and Chief
Financial Officer of Stratos Global Corporation in September 2007.
She joined Stratos Global Corporation in April 2000 as
Vice-President of Finance. Paula is a graduate of Memorial
University of Newfoundland and attained a Bachelor of Commerce
(Honours) degree majoring in Accounting and Finance in 1984.
She received her Chartered Accountant designation in 1986 and her
Certified Management Accountant designation in 1985. Paula is also
a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of
Newfoundland.
Paula began her career in 1984 with Ernst & Young LLP, an
international professional services firm. Her main areas of
practice were accounting, auditing and corporate finance. She was a
principal with Ernst & Young LLP when she left to join Stratos
Global Corporation.
Paula has extensive experience in international business, mergers
and acquisitions, and acquisition integration. She currently serves
on the Board of Directors of Stratos Global Corporation as well as
various Stratos subsidiaries. Paula has also served on the board of
a number of not-for-profit organizations. Paula has taught
accounting and auditing for the Faculty of Business Administration
at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
TOM
BURSEY,

Council of Canadian Academies
Tom
is the Executive Director, Corporate Services for the Council of
Canadian Academies (CCA). The mission of CCA is to manage the
conduct of assessments of science via independent expert panels and
to build confidence that decisions are being based on
broadly-accepted scientific knowledge and evidence. In his capacity
at the CCA, Tom provides leadership in corporate governance,
accounting & finance, HR, and IT systems.
Prior
to joining CCA, Tom worked in the management consultant sector,
serving as Vice President with Right Management, and Managing
Director with Alan Davis & Associates. Before this, he worked
with the ATCO Group. During his tenure with the ATCO Frontec, Tom
was heavily involved in the operations of the North Warning System
(NWS) and the Alaska Radar System (ARS), from the Labrador coast, to the Arctic Ocean hamlets
of Nunavut, across the North West Territories and
into Alaska .
Tom
is Chair of the Board CODE Inc. and Director of CODE. CODE Inc.
specializes in election materials in developing countries
worldwide. CODE Inc. is the for profit affiliate
of CODE.
CODE is the not-for-profit charity support global
literacy. As well,
Tom is a Director of the Human Resources Research Institute
(HRRI).
Tom
received the designation Chartered Director (C. Dir.) from The
Directors College and two specialized governance certifications:
Audit Committee Certified (ACC) and Human Resources and
Compensation Committee Certified (HRCCC). He is a member of the
Institute of Corporate Directors and an Institute-Certified
Director (ICD.D). Tom holds the designation Certified Management
Accountant (CMA) and received his B.Comm. (Honors) and MBA degrees
from Memorial University .
Born
and raised in St. John’s ( Mt. Pearl ), he is the founder and
Chair of the Affinity NL Ottawa. Tom was the recipient of the 2009
J.D. Eaton Alumni Award that recognizes outstanding service to
Memorial University .
Tom
resides in Ottawa with his wife and two
children.
